We had big plans to see Bucharest in the daylight. We are blaming the jet lag, because we ended up sleeping in until 11 am! The morning noon hour turned into a mad rush to make the train to meet our travel rep. We hopefully will have time on our return – look at this amazing building just down the street from the Hotel Rembrandt – it’s being used as an “antique” market – Who created it? When? What was its history? – all of these questions going through my mind as we caught a taxi to the train station.

So very Romanian (NOT) – we met Anca at the Mcdonalds in the North Train Station.

With guide book in hand, we left on the train to Zarnesti. In Zarnesti we had a lovely dinner at “Pensiunea Garofita Pietrei Craiului”. We also stayed there for the night, basic accommodation indeed, but lovely hosts and the food was plenty.

Bicycling to start tomorrow …..
