We spoiled ourselves – at the shore of Lake Pichola gazing at the marble Taj Lake Palace hotel. We were met at the dock by the incredibly hospitable staff and taken to our room.Who can resist a selfie?! One felt like royalty – apparently not one of the rooms in the palace is the same.We watched the shadow dancer for a while on the way to the beautiful lounge for a late night drink.Breakfast was wonderful – both the food and the ambiance!

The James Bond film Octopussy was filmed at this hotel (and we did enjoy watching it over and over again on the television the night before!)To the Udaipur city palace- still inhabited by the Maharana.The decoration was fantastic.The museum was interesting – the story of Chetak a battle horse from the 1500’s particularly moving. Saying goodbye was difficult. We can’t wait to go back – and we realize we need to spend more time outside of the hotel!!
